After surfing, wind kicked in a bit and spoiled the surf, but still not howling. So we headed to Weymouth as they had a sudden jump to 40mph at 1pm ish. Got down in time to see a few competitors trying to work it down the Portland Harbour speed run. But it didnt look consistent enough for a good speed run. There was quite a wind shadow close to the shore which meant they were doing their runs 30metres out in the chop.

They took the timing stations down and of course the wind picked up. I rigged a 5.3m with a view to breaking the record , it was probably force 6! Then had 1.5 hours of flat out broad reaching down the speed track. Had some epic runs a few metres from the shore where the gusts stayed with you for the whole of the run (750m?) just piling on more and more speed. Only about 10 people out and just a few doing the speed run.
